Yvonne De Rosa è un’artista, fotografa, curatrice e docente italiana. Laureata in Scienze Politiche all’Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, si è formata in fotografia a Londra, presso Central Saint Martins e il London College of Communication – University of the Arts London, dove ha conseguito un MA in Photojournalism.
La sua pratica si fonda su un lavoro di ricerca che attraversa fotografia, archivio, memoria, identità e potere. Attraverso documenti storici, immagini d’archivio, tracce biografiche e materiali ritrovati, De Rosa costruisce narrazioni visive che utilizzano spesso il passato come strumento per interrogare il presente. Nei suoi progetti la fotografia non è intesa soltanto come testimonianza, ma come dispositivo critico capace di mettere in discussione il modo in cui le storie vengono prodotte, conservate, rimosse o trasformate.
Nel 2016 ha fondato Magazzini Fotografici, spazio indipendente e associazione no-profit dedicata alla fotografia contemporanea e alla cultura visuale, di cui è direttrice artistica. Attraverso Magazzini Fotografici promuove mostre, talk, workshop, progetti editoriali, percorsi formativi e attività di ricerca rivolte ad artisti, studenti, scuole, università e pubblico non specialistico.
Parallelamente alla pratica artistica, svolge attività didattica e di formazione. È docente presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli e collabora con università, accademie e istituzioni culturali, tra cui l’Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II e l’Università Suor Orsola Benincasa.
I suoi lavori sono stati presentati in istituzioni, festival e spazi indipendenti in Italia e all’estero. Nei lavori più recenti continua a interrogare il rapporto tra immagine, archivio, potere e memoria, costruendo progetti che utilizzano storie e documenti del passato per leggere tensioni ancora presenti nella società contemporanea.

In 2016, she founded Magazzini Fotografici, an independent space and non-profit association dedicated to contemporary photography and visual culture, where she serves as artistic director. Through Magazzini Fotografici, she promotes exhibitions, talks, workshops, publishing projects, educational programs, and research activities aimed at artists, students, schools, universities, and the general public.
Alongside her artistic practice, she is active in teaching and training. She is a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and collaborates with universities, academies, and cultural institutions, including the University of Naples Federico II and Suor Orsola Benincasa University.
