Gli scatti raccolti nel libro evidenziano la tenacia, la forza e l’orgoglio di queste persone, costrette a vivere in condizioni di forte disagio sociale, ma che mantengono una straordinaria dignità umana. Hidden Identities. Unfinished was created in collaboration with Hope and Homes for Children, an organisation committed to safeguarding the family unit. The organisation’s aim is therefore to avoid relying on institutional facilities, such as orphanages, to resolve the numerous problems caused by poverty. Mark Cook, the founder of HHC, invited the Italian photographer to meet some of the people the organisation supports, who receive assistance to help them survive and feel that they are not abandoned. The photographs collected in the book highlight the tenacity, strength and pride of these people, who are forced to live in conditions of severe social hardship, yet maintain an extraordinary sense of human dignity. With the word ‘unfinished’ in the title, Yvonne de Rosa aims to emphasise the unfinished nature of the work, as she explains: ‘I was unable to show all the places where I worked; I decided to focus the study on just two countries: Romania and Bosnia.
